Officers 2013-2014
Cameron Olsen
PRESIDENT
Major: Health Education and Promotion
About Me: Cameron Olsen was raised in Orem, Utah and is the youngest of 7 children. He is an outdoor enthusiast and is majoring in Health Education and Promotion emp. Health Science. He plans on completing a doctoral degree in medicine and pursuing Ophthalmology as a career. At first glance he may appear regular or ordinary but he strives for just the opposite. A great way to describe Cam is stubborn! This characteristic got him into trouble a few times growing up, but has turned out to be a useful tool to accomplish much. Although not always a stellar college student at the start, he maintains a 3.6 GPA. He currently serves as the President of the USU Pre-Optometry/Ophthalmology Club. He also tutors at Logan High School. Due to generous donors in 2012 and 2013 Cameron has been inspired to become a USU Scholarship Donor in the future.

Kristin L. Sylvester, COT
VICE-PRESIDENT
Major: Health Education and Promotion
About Me: I started my career in eye care as an Ophthalmic Medical Assistant in July 1995. I worked my way up from knowing essentially nothing about eyes to a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant in 2000 followed by a Certified Ophthalmic Technician in 2008. I had the unique opportunity to work as a Research Study Coordinator for the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group and contributed to several studies published in prominent ophthalmology journals. To advance my career I started college in 2009. Even though I went through a terrible divorce during the time, I miraculously finished my A.S. with honors from Salt Lake Community College in 2012.

About Me: Welcome to the Optometry Club! Its taken me a while, but I think I've finally found my niche in Optometry. I'm from St. George, Utah and currently a senior at Utah State studying Nutrition Science. I plan to attend Optometry School Fall of 2014. I love the opportunities eye care can afford you. I think the eye is such a great outlet that allows us to diagnose problems throughout the entire body! I'm grateful for a circle of peers with the same goal in mind. Cheers to Optometry School!
